Bigfoot

I’ve just finished watching several episodes of a new documentary about finding Bigfoot and unsurprisingly it’s just a lot of nonsense. I would love for there to be definitive proof of Bigfoot’s existence but for the longest time any show or documentary on it boils down to finding footprints, hair that doesn’t belong to other animals in that area, unexplainable noises at night and poop. So just like ghost hunting shows I’m officially done watching any Bigfoot hunting shows.

However, I just can’t get enough of Bigfoot horror movies. Last several months I’ve watched so many on the Tubi TV app. For some reason their horror section is packed with Bigfoot movies and I can’t stop watching them. Give me those slow burning movies like Willow Creek, the found footage movies like Exist and even the over the top movies like Bigfoot Wars. The costumes are always a huge factor in the quality of the movie. Some movies don’t even bother putting more effort than just buying some ape costume, Others go all out and bring you a pretty believable character.

So let me tell you about my favorite Bigfoot movie, Abominable (2006). The best way to describe this movie is to imagine a Friday the 13th movie and replace Jason with Bigfoot. A towering, hulking beast that tears through the unfortunate characters who’ve decided to take a vacation in it’s part of the woods. Apart from being my favorite depiction of Bigfoot it also features my favorite ending to a Bigfoot movie. It’s currently on Tubi so give it a watch. undefined

Do any of you enjoy any type of Bigfoot media? What are your thoughts on hunting bigfoot type shows? What are your thoughts on Bigfoot movies?

Movie Addiction

I wanted to start a blog mainly to help me let out my thoughts on movies and shows that I might be watching at the moment. At the start of March 2015 I decided to start tracking the movies I was watching. Up to that point I had already been diving into older movies as well as foreign movies that I would never have a chance of seeing in theaters or on TV. Part of the reason I started cataloging the movies I saw was to keep track of titles so I wouldn’t watch something twice, but it was also mainly to see how many movies I would end up watching in a year.

From March 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015 I watched 400 movies that I hadn’t seen before. I decided to continue tracking the number of movies I watched every year after that. 2016 ended up being a busier year with school, a project I was helping out on and work so I only ended up watching 294 movies that year. With a somewhat lighter schedule and a full year I thought for sure in 2017 I would be able to beat my viewing number from 2015. I ended 2017 with 397 movies just a few movies shy of my 2015 total which made me want to see if the following year I could surpass those 400. I don’t know how I managed to do it considering my work schedule which on some days only left me with a few hours of free time, but I did it and by a huge margin as well. At the end of 2018 I had managed to see 984 movies!!!! A number that could have easily gone into the 1000 range if I hadn’t binge watched X-files as well as re-watching several other shows like Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men and The Sopranos throughout the year. I told myself to slow down for 2019 since I no longer needed to watch several movies a day to reach a certain number. That’s exactly what I did taking a more casual approach yet at the end of 2019 I ended up with 646 watched movies. Only 5 days into 2020 and I’m already at 15 movies so I’m going to start writing reviews for some of the movies I watch just to try and slow down my view count. I can’t promise anything though.

If you happen to be reading this, how many movies do you watch a year? If anyone wants to know what my favorite movies were for each year let me know and I can make a list.
